NO. 400 - EDAP
BALANCED DERMAL BIOSTIMULATION IN EVERY
COMPLEX SQUARE INCH OF HUMAN SKIN
The skin is a Permeable Membrane.
Skin absorption ranks second only to the lungs as a route of entry for toxic
products. Inversely, it's a major organ in the excretion of toxic waste
products. The skin is a protective, controlled filtration system. Moisture is
one of the most important factors that control selective absorption and
excretion. So, dry skin is dangerous skin because very little can go in or out
of the body, a balance that is necessary for normal health.
A two-way valve.
Nature's balancing valve maintains a normal topical moisture content by
releasing water from the deep inner skin layers to the outer layer when the
outer layer becomes too dry, but its reserves are limited. When the outer layer
stays dry for too long, the water supply becomes unavailable.
Even nature's ability cannot keep up all the time with smog, chemical saturated
fog, exhaust fumes and smoke. Remember, when nature built its normal water
movement in dermal tissues, none of these were present. They are now and provide
a constant threat to healthy, resilient, protective skin tissue.
Balanced Biostimulation can provide
protection. EDAP provides 62% moisture.
Normal skin surfaces contain 10% to 30% water and as long as relative humidity
of the surrounding atmosphere stays at about 60%, the skin maintains normal
balance. When humidity falls, moisture reservoirs dry up and nothing
"moves" properly in the skin. EDAP provides 62% moisture to provide a
normal available shield protection. It might be said that EDAP can capture the
ideal relative humidity for the individual skin tissue.
That moisture base also provides smooth, fast absorbing panthenol, combined with
natural organic oils and spreading agents, to speed penetration and
dissemination of the other ingredients. These ingredients keep the surface cells
pliable and supple to keep them at normal interchange levels.
Balanced Biostimulation requires oils
- Mixed with water!
The normal skin is where oil and water DON'T MIX. The oils carry fat soluble
substances, vitamins and make the cells slide smoothly over each other so our
skins are flexible, pliant and supple. The water helps "float" cells
in water/oil nutrients so that they can live and breathe in every cell.
19,500,00 cells to the square inch must have oxygen to survive. THAT'S CELLULAR
BREATHING.
BECAUSE ONLY 10% TO 30% OF THE SKIN IS WATER, oils are a dominant factor, particularly vitamins E, A and D. Balanced Biostimulation of the skin requires a formulation of oil and water for optimum effect.
Vitamin E: Keeps oxygen intact at the
cell level where the cells breathe. There's more Vitamin E in the human tissues
than any other vitamin on a relative basis. Vitamin E holds oxygen at the skin
level for requirements in burns, wounds, bruises, trauma or abnormal tissue wear
and tear.
When the skin is damaged, cells require more oxygen. They must grow faster,
build and reproduce more quickly and oxygen is the fuel required. And vitamin E
is the oxygen preserving fraction.
Vitamin A: Regulates the normal reproduction of skin basal cells and produces an increase in mitotic activity, the key procedure in cell reproduction.
Vitamin D: normally formed in the skin oils by the action of sunlight and an inherent part of their nutrient structure, D is a necessary unit for the biostimulation of the skin cells.
